POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant (MA) is a member of the primary care team who provides direct patient care and clinic support. The MA facilitates compassionate, non-judgmental patient care through patient education, communication, connection, and team collaboration. The MA is responsible for rooming patients during office visits, providing support during office visits, coordination of care plans, and assists with follow-up as needed. In addition, the MA may also perform in-office point of care testing, medication administration, and other clinical skills (phlebotomy, EKG, hearing and vision testing, etc.). The MA is responsible for clinic preparation and maintenance of exam rooms, maintenance of patient records, complying with CLIA and OSHA clinic regulations, Sterile Processing, and other tasks as requested by medical providers.
This role reports directly to the Clinic Manager and will collaborate with clinic leadership team on deliverables, initiatives, and process improvement. This position requires someone to be able to collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure smooth patient care and office operations as well as be adaptable to various tasks and responsibilities within the healthcare setting.

Education, certification and licensure:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required within the first 12 months of hire. the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technology Association (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or the National Health Career Association (NHA) OR licensure as EMT basic or higher, Oregon LPN, or Oregon RN. BLS/CPR required.
Skills & Knowledge: Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures. Knowledge of standard office machines including copier, fax, shredder, multi-line telephone, printer, etc. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently using good judgment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software products and medical terminology preferred.
